Technique Feb 2010: Taihodoki (Single Lapel Grab Escape)

- 1/ Uke grabs Tori's left lapel and prepares to strike.
- 2/ Tori covers uke's hand on outside and evades back 45 degree taking himself out of line of trajectory for punch and protects vital areas. .
- 3/ As Uke strikes, Tori slight steps to right (Migi) and wraps his own left arm underneath Uke's right arm and parrying striking arm off balancing uke. .
- 4/ Tori traps both arms with left hand in a form of a coil lock immobilising uke.
- 5/ Tori Pivots to his left (Hidari)moving inside the uke's arc locking up both arms and prepares to throw, at This point, Tori could use hidden strikes with his right fist/foot. .
- 6/ Tori Can take uke's exposed left fist with right hand and support the leverage by pulling down simulatenously stepping deeper and forward with right leg, using body to drop the uke. .
- 7/ Ground Restrant: with uke's arm locked, Tori applies flexion on the Uke's wrist and uses leg or knee to control the opponent by placing Pressure on His neck and arm.

- 8/ Tori Is In full control of prostrate Uke and is still protecting his own target areas, eliminating Threat of counter or uke rolling, Tori's legs or feet grounds the opponent and could Apply the break of uke's arm if appropriate. .
