Bujinkan Ninjutsu Ely Dojo

Welcome

Welcome to the Bujinkan Ely website. This site aims to promote Bujinkan Ninjutsu and support the members of the Ely dojo that teaches this martial art.

What is Ninjutsu?

If Karate is punching and kicking; Judo throwing; Jujutsu grappling and locks; and Kendo uses a sword, what does Ninjutsu do?

All of the above plus acrobatics, tumbling, multiple sword styles, throwing weapons (shurikens), knife-fighting, three types of staffs, chain weapons, spear and naginata, climbing, hiding, silent movement, psychology, strategy and a path to spiritual enlightenment.

It’s an unpredictable world out there; it’s best to be prepared for anything (and the 1st lesson is free).

New Bujinkan Peterborough Dojo to open April 2012

Rick Pridmore (5th Dan black belt) is launching a new Bujinkan dojo in April 2012. This new group will start on Rick’s return from Japan after studying with Bujinkan Grandmaster Dr Hatsumi Masaaski.

Rick has been successfully running a Bujinkan dojo in Ely for several years and now wishes to open a Bujinkan class in the city where he started his ninjutsu training in the 1990s.

Rick is supported in this goal by his instructor, Jake Sharpstone (13th Dan, Bujinkan Cambridge) and several of his current students who are based in Peterborough.

For further information see Bujinkan Peterborough Dojo or contact Rick directly(Dojo Cho/Shidoshi) on 07833 720746.

    Sunday night Randori (sparing) training

Starting from Sunday 4th March, Ely dojo will train every Sunday. Junior session will start at 6.30pm and finish at 7.30pm when the adult class will begin. The offical class will run until 9.00pm and then we will finish with 30 minutes of Randori (sparing) training.

The dojo has three full suit of kendo armour for members to use. This is an excellent way to gain further experience in weapon training in a completely safe environment. The weapons we will be using will include sword, knife, staff and naginata. Everyone one is welcome to play.
